We collect as little as we can. There are no accounts, and we never ask for your name or phone number.
What stays on your device
Your pets, your saved places, your language, and the places you answered “Is this still right?” about in the last 30 days are kept in your browser and never sent to us.
If you let the site use your location, it is used in your browser to show distances and centre the map. It is never sent to us.
When you search for a place we do not list, such as a hotel or an address, what you type is sent through our server to the map search service named under the results. We do not keep it, and your internet address is not passed on.
When you answer or suggest
When you answer “Is this still right?”, say something is not quite right, or suggest a place, we keep what you sent. With it we keep a random code your browser made, scrambled on our server so that it cannot be traced back to you. It lets us count how many different people agree, and stops one browser answering again and again.
We read your notes to check the listing, and do not publish them. Please do not put personal details in them.
When you send feedback
Your message is emailed to us with the page you came from, your language and the name your browser gives itself, so we can see what went wrong. It is not kept on the site. Your email address is optional, and used only to reply.
When you message us on LINE or Facebook
Our chat assistant reads your messages to answer you. We keep them with the code LINE or Facebook gives your account, so the chat can pick up where it left off. To write a reply, your messages are sent to xAI’s Grok in the United States, which keeps them for up to 30 days to check for misuse and does not train on them. The reply reaches you through Composio. Places you suggest, problems you report and requests from owners are passed to our team without your account code.
We delete your messages after 7 days. If you unsend a message, we delete it straight away. If you block our LINE account or ask the chat to forget you, we delete all of them straight away.
Stopping misuse
To limit how often anyone can send, we keep a scrambled form of your internet address for 24 hours, made with a key that changes every day. After that it is deleted.
Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a program, is sending. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy covers that check.
No trackers
There are no advertising trackers and no cookies that follow you.
Videos posted by other people
Some place pages link to short public videos that other people posted, so you can see what a place is like. We keep only the link, leave out the name of the account where the link allows it, and never copy the video. If a video is yours and you want it off our pages, write to us and we will take it off within a few days.
Removing what you sent
Ask us to remove an answer, report or suggestion you sent, and we will do it within 30 days. Tell us which place it was about and roughly when you sent it.
Who runs this site
Pet Friendly Spaces is run by one person, who reads everything sent to the address below.
